Each artist has a different view of the world, and this is reflected in the way ideas are expressed.
From the ages of ten to twelve, I lived with my family in a small rural village in Alsace-Lorraine, France, surrounded by fields of poppies, lavender and cherry trees. My work is heavily influenced by landscape and culture of southern France, and I am interested in the interpretation of various subjects through the power of color with exciting composition.
Color and abstract qualities are distinctive features in all of my paintings, but my work is never entirely abstract—it falls between the two extremes of abstraction and realism. The emphasis is on the elements of shape, color and texture rather than the subject matter. It is a challenging method of working, but a very rewarding one.
